Пытаюсь обновиться:

Во-первых по какой-то причине не хватает места. Скорее всего его съели логи в /var/log/ , а полное обновление как раз сделает так, чтобы место не кончалось даже при кривых настройках логов.

Во-вторых у вас нет интернета на контроллере:

Блин, точно, всё время забываю про эти несчастные логи, которые вечно съедают память

Это вряд ли, потому что контроллер находится примерно в 50 километрах от меня))

Почистил логи, ошибка насчёт памяти ушла. По резолву- всё так же(

попробуйте apt, вместо apt-get
DNS работает?
mirror.yandex.ru например, пингует нормально?

Сейчас попробовал apt-get, как вчера, всё заработало. Видимо, что-то провайдер мудрил. Подскажите пожалуйста, как удостовериться, что теперь логи не будут до победного сжирать память?

Отключить (если включен) debug wb-mqtt-seral. Это основная причина.
